Boston recalled winger Guillaume Lefebvre from Providence earlier this morning for the second time this season. Lefebvre is expected to dress during the B's upcoming 2-game road games, starting with the Flyers tonight in Philly. As mentioned earlier this will be Lefebvre's second stint with the Bruins this year, first getting the call on an emergency basis to replace injured winger Milan Lucic last weekend against the Phoenix Coyotes. Lefebvre recorded no points during his first game with Boston.
From this move we can pretty much assume that Shawn Thornton will miss his second straight game tonight. Thornton missed the last nights game against the Predators with an undisclosed injury but will still be making the current road trip with the team. Thornton appeared today on The Toucher & Rich show on 98.5 The Sports Hub and didn't sound to thrilled when asked about his current status responding "I am day-to-day, is what I'm suppose to tell you guys, I'm questionable". This later promoted show member John Wallach to question weather or not Thornton's injury is actually an injury at all or just another shake-up by Claude to prove that "no one is safe" and give the P-Bruins young guns their shot. I think that is a good point but without thinking too much into this, I can't see why Claude would do that and break up the most consistent line he has had so far this season (Bitz/Begin/Thornton). But stranger things have happened,
But, Thornton being Thornton cleared things up a few moments later when he told show host Fred Toucher that his "sore vagina" was the thing keeping him off the ice. No lie...
Anyways the T&R interview was hilarious and is a must listen. The topics varied from Savvy's status to his horribly bedazzled clothing to Chris Pronger being a dirty player. Go check out the full interview on Toucher & Rich's podcast page at the 98.5 Sports Hub website (the interview starts at the 2:40 mark).
