Starting today and continuing every Wednesday throughout the season I will be bringing you quotes from different weekly "power rankings" around the league in order to see what everyone is saying about the Bruins. This week the overall theme seems to involve the B's lack of consistency so far this season. Keep in mind however that most of these rankings don't include the Sabres or Penguins games in their analysis. But with that said, I really don't think that still makes an excuse for the absurd statements made by ESPN and THN this week. The Habs loss was "rock bottom" for the Bruins? Battling back to steal a point is "rock bottom"? I think that title might apply to the B's 6-1 loss to the Ducks this season but not the Habs game. Good analysis ESPN, living up to your leader in sports coverage title.
"Saturday's pair of power play markers ended a six-game drought with the man advantage. While the situation ought to improve once C Marc Savard is healthy, the current personnel simply have to be more productive. " -TSN
"Loss to the Habs was rock bottom. Will the road to redemption start with the win over Buffalo?" -ESPN
"A few more starts for Tuukka Rask might keep the injury-plagued Bruins afloat." -The Hockey News
"You have to wonder which event from Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sabres will have a greater impact on the sagging B's: snapping an 0-for-20 slump with a pair of power play goals or having someone drop the gloves for the first time since a win over Ottawa on Oct. 24. Last season's team loaded up at the extra man buffet, but it could be argued that toughness brought them together as a team. Clearly, they could use a little more from both columns. Last week: 1-2" -Sports Illustrated
"The Eastern Conference champs haven't been able to put together two wins in a row this season." -CBS Sports
